Name: Anthony Cook

Jersey Number: 21

Ht/Wt: 6-1, 168

School: Houston Lamar

Eval By: EJ Holland• Texas Recruiting Analyst

Strengths: Arguably the top overall prospect in the state, Cook is a lockdown cornerback with great height and length. He frustrates opposing wide receivers with his size and elite technique and makes a number of plays on the ball due to his natural instincts. Cook has great closing speed and breaks on balls perfectly. He’s also not afraid to come up and play the run.

Areas of improvement: It’s hard to find weaknesses in Cook’s game, but he could improve in his straight-line speed. Cook isn’t the fastest or quickest corner, which sometimes hinders him when isolated against slot receivers.

Offers: Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, USC and others.

Additional info: Cook was a first team all-district selection as a junior after recording four interceptions. He earned an invitation to The Opening finals in Oregon this summer. Cooks trains with national defensive backs guru Clay Mack.
