Gareon Conley

Cornerback, Ohio State

6’0”, 195 lbs

Analysis by Nolan Fleming

Conley shows real potential in coverage and has the ability to play in various spots in the defensive backfield. He utilizes strong technique and physical tools which should allow him to become a viable piece in an NFL defense right away. Our analysis of Gareon Conley has him placed as a prospect who should be drafted somewhere in the mid-late second round range. He has great upside, and could develop into a consistent impact corner with time.

His Strengths

One of Gareon’s biggest assets is his versatility. He is effective both outside and in the slot, although he does project as more of a nickel corner at the next level. In addition, Conley has shown an understanding and ability to produce in both man and zone coverages. He often puts his game preparation on display, showcasing the ability to quickly reading routes and make plays on short throws.

Areas of Improvement

Conley will need to improve on his tackling at the next level, as this is easily the weakest aspect of his game. When watching Conley, we see him often tackle ball carriers too high, which can cause him to miss. This habit will be exposed to an even greater degree once he is facing the highlest level of talent in the world.
