By EJ HOLLAND, NUC SPORTS TEXAS ANALYST

Strengths:
Cherry is an extremely athletic edge defender with a ton of upside. He can be a defensive end in a 4-3 defense, but his best fit might be as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme. Either way, Cherry has all the tools to excel at the next level. He is big, fast strong and uses his hands well. He is at his best when allowed to have freedom on the edge as a pure pass rusher. He has a knack for getting to the quarterback and being disruptive.

Areas of improvement:
Cherry is still unrefined as a run stopper and can improve his overall technique.

Offers:
Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA and others.

Additional info:
Cherry was named the District 6-4A DI Co-Defensive Line MVP as a junior.
